Be very careful!

Another module with the infamous hidden ".info" file.

Let's investigate.

On PrestaShop 9.0.1, the module installed with errors the second time. The module doesn't work on 9.0.1.

Let's investigate.

I downloaded it directly from the PrestaShop store. I'm surprised by the file; I've never seen anything like it before... maybe it contains information about the store URL I use... hmmm.

I've checked the module, but I didn't find anything that associates it with anything, so I think that file can be deleted. If you want, I can upload the module without that file here...

I installed it on a 1.7.8.5 demo store and it crashed the store; download the specific version for 1.7.x, 8.x, and 9.x.

If I understand you correct, you shared the zip that you downloaded from PS Addon/Marketplace, right?

If you look at the post by @freiserk you can see that the file .info was created/modified four minutes before you uploaded this module.
All other files was created the same date as the last release.

So you could be right when you say that it contain info about your url.

Have you tried deleting that file and checking if the module works? Have you checked if the code in the other files of the module references that file? Regards
I haven't scan this module for reference to the file .info.
But I have scanned some other modules that also contains the file .info, but I haven't found any corresponding/references code for it.

I don't think the purpose for this file is to block anything. I believe the purpose of this file is to find where the module is installed.

Yes, I think so too.

I believe PrestaShop is implementing a tracking method to locate module activity, if it hasn't already.

So, remove the ".info".

I saw that .info file in another module and i was surprised as well because it had a code similar to this one. I also checked the module for a reference for this .info file and didn't find any. It is strange to see this king of ile in a module
