16 December 2025 Aimy Canonical PRO v33.0 allows to specify a set of query string parameters that do not trigger a redirect. This could be useful if you set the canonical without query strings for search engines in general, but need to keep some strings for functionality for your visitors.

Aimy Canonical is a handy Joomla plugin that automatically adds correct canonical link tags to your pages and lets you define a single preferred domain and protocol (http/https) for your whole site to avoid duplicate‑content issues. The PRO version goes much further, allowing custom canonical paths per article, category, tag or menu item, advanced handling of query strings, trailing slashes and /index.php, redirects to the canonical URL when there is a mismatch, and special support for extensions like VirtueMart and HikaShop.
