I’ve been researching video sharing platforms and I keep seeing people recommend KVS (Kernel Video Sharing). From what I understand, it’s one of the most powerful and feature-rich scripts for running a large-scale video site.
My question is:
Is there any script out there that’s truly on the same level as KVS in terms of scalability, video encoding, ad zones, and traffic tools?
I know there are options like AVS, PHPVibe, PlayTube, ClipBucket, etc., but do any of them actually perform like KVS for a high-traffic site?
For someone starting out but planning to scale, what’s the closest alternative to KVS that’s worth investing in?
Would love to hear from people who have actually tested these scripts or migrated from KVS to something else.
