yes... we can. why exactly 2.0.3.1? just because it's the next version after 1.5.6? you can go straight from 1.5.6 to 3.0.3.8 (the latest for today). depending on your configuration and the extensions used in the old store - you'll need some migration tools and modern versions of the extensions or good alternatives. if you are still interested - drop me a message.

I don't know extension but I'm sure if you export and import database tables manually all will works without any problems.
