Hey everyone,
The AI hype is everywhere, but I'm curious about real-world use cases on our WordPress sites. Beyond the marketing fluff, how are you guys leveraging AI to actually save time, make money, or improve your projects?
I've been experimenting with a few things and wanted to share my thoughts and see what you're all doing.
Here's what's been working for me:
It's not all perfect, though.

My AI + WordPress Workflow
Here's what's been working for me:
- Content Generation & Spinning: Tools like GPT-4 (via API), Claude, and various AI writer plugins are getting scarily good. I'm using them for generating blog post drafts, creating product descriptions, and rewriting PLR content. It's not perfect, but it cuts down research and writing time by at least 60-70%. The key is solid prompting and a human final touch.
- SEO & Keyword Optimization: Instead of just using Ahrefs or SEMrush, I'm feeding keyword lists into AI models to generate long-tail variations, FAQs, and content clusters. Plugins like Rank Math and Yoast SEO have integrated AI features now which are decent for meta descriptions and headlines.
- AI Image Generation: For featured images and blog post illustrations, Midjourney and Stable Diffusion are game-changers. No more digging through stock photo sites for hours. You can generate completely unique, high-quality images in minutes. There are also plugins that connect directly to these services from your WP dashboard.
- Customer Support & Chatbots: I've replaced basic chat plugins on a few client sites with AI-powered chatbots. They can handle a surprising amount of customer queries, book appointments, and even guide users through a sales funnel 24/7.
The Downsides & Risks
It's not all perfect, though.
- Content Quality: AI can still produce generic, repetitive, or just plain incorrect information. It's crucial to fact-check and edit everything.
- Google's Stance: While Google says it rewards good content regardless of how it's made, purely AI-generated, low-effort sites are getting hit. The goal should be to assist human creation, not replace it entirely.
- Plugin Overload: The number of "AI" plugins on CodeCanyon and elsewhere is insane. Many are just basic wrappers for an OpenAI API key with a huge markup.
