Joomla is now become better with Joomla 4 and 5. Version 6 will be releasing this year with much cleaned up code.
Joomla's a bit more tricky to handle than WordPress, its eternal rival, but it's way more flexible. With Joomla, one extension can totally transform your site into an app. WordPress has tons of plugins, but they can't match Joomla's level of customization. Sure, WooCommerce's a beast, but other WordPress extensions can't keep up with Joomla. My take? For a simple, quick site, go WordPress. For a serious, customizable web project, Joomla's the way to go.

not an easy to use cms is its advantage not disadvantage for developers and website designer otherwise it will spread like wordpress which is so easy everybody can create website less dependency on web designer which is killing our business
I sincerely believe that Joomla will be mantained and updated for years to come: there are so many users, so many websites, and so many companies involved in the business.

Personally, I am glad that WP is the more popular CMS, as Wordpress is the target of most attacks.
Joomla is constantly being developed. I have known it since version 1.4. Today, it is already version 6.

even for designers and developers, use of use is paramount. I find the actual CSM easy to use. But (just an example) if I need to use a masonry gallery there is no reason to re-invent the wheel, when for WP there are several ready to use plugins. Or multiple solutions for maintaining multiple websites. And most of them free or in lower prices. And at the end of the day, I can build a website one way or another. But how easy is for the client to use everyday? That's why wp is winning. Because it's easy to use. And the the websites are used daily by people with no time and no need (or will) to code. Not by designers and developers
@MacO This is a good topic to talk about. My first Joomla project was J1.5, then I embedded html code I extracted from CSS DreamWeaver3 to boost my project performance. Joomla 2.5 become more Excellent than WordPress and was stable doing great job. Joomla 2.5 was a never forgotten era of Joomla, because it was easy for every programmer to package is code and turn it into extension and module by following simple steps. Joomla stayed too long on J3.x versions. Joomla J4 arrival was extremely late, many Joomla developer fans have lost hope, many have started seeing Joomla as a old CMS never ready to grow into the future of online development. But today Joomla J5 and J6. Mostly Joomla J6 is changing the narrative. The technology in J6 is actually interesting me as I can see AI structure coming into Joomla soon.
Finally I can start calling old friend of 2007/2008 to check Joomla out again for a deep complex professional project in Fintech and more soon.
