First turn off visibility of the subcategories
Then set in faceted search module to show the products (in the main category) from the subcategories
Then create features with same names as categories and subcategories (you will use it in the filter on the left column)
Then assign products from each category and subcategory to the proper feature name.

I found the solution. Just empty the file themes/your-theme/_partials/subcategories.tpl
