How to identify a dodgy download?

Hi forum users,

New here. Just need to make a post to be able to download something...

A genuine question i have is this; is there a way to certify a download that it's safe? Or is this platform generally safe and doesn't get spammy content? I mean dodgy scripts with back doors for hackers etc.

You could do a test in another domain first. Some hosts will scan files to help detect modifications and changes to files as well.

No hassle free way to do it apart from purchase the addon.

Most of them don't come with problems but some slip through the net.

I like to check downloaded files on virustotal.com - it's free and allows you to check files with many antiviruses, including paid ones
