For me updating to 5.1 solved all problems. Its quick and responsive.
Though that could be dependent on your used plugins and extensions.

I'm liking the speed of Joomla! 5. For less complex websites updating to has been a breeze!

Just be sure the PHP and MySQLi prerequisites are met before upgrading - depending on your hosting provider (some are lagging behind!)

Until now, I've faced some issues with some extensions the upgrade to J5 in some projects, so I'm getting a little more time to migrate all my websites to that version. Ensure your host php version is aligned with the needs

  • Faster and More Efficient
Joomla 5 has been optimized for speed. It takes advantage of modern PHP versions and improved core code, which results in faster page loads and better overall performance.
  • Improved Accessibility
Joomla 5 adheres to current accessibility standards (like WCAG). This means your website is more inclusive and easier to navigate for users with disabilities.
  • Modern Codebase
Joomla 5 uses up-to-date coding practices, making it more future-proof and easier for developers to build and maintain custom extensions.
  • Enhanced Security
With stricter security practices and up-to-date libraries, Joomla 5 offers stronger protection against common vulnerabilities.
  • Cleaner Backend UX
The admin interface has been refined for a more user-friendly experience, making content and user management smoother, especially for non-technical users.
  • Backward Compatibility Layer
Joomla 5 includes a "Behavior Compatibility Plugin" to help older Joomla 4 extensions work without breaking immediately, giving developers more time to upgrade.

So I loved this. I am very busy to debug everything of my own components, to disable "Behavior Compatibility Plugin"

I am now just starting to work with it. I've been working on flex theme and trying to get all the updated mods for it. So far so good
