Prestashop 9 or prestashop 8, near is even better?

Hi, I installed 9 from 8, the update was painful I had to start from scratch because error 500.
Why I wanted the update ? because now I can use Api with a JSON file, instead of XML that I had to convert from json.
As my goal Is use lot of API I see more options. Also the SEO will be better as I can fulfil more data with api....
Didn't had much experience with version 8 but as SEO from google update I guess PrestaShop need to update as well.

what youu sayy mate.. explainn ore detaild]sssis a valid chop to install a prestashop 9 to a store before its official release?
I have 9 and the main issus are modules and themes that won't work, need to look in the code to fix.
theme I don t even try anymore.
You better to have a backup skills because while trying to fix you ll mess-up php or sql or I don't know what to get it work.
So from my point of view If you start from beginning and ready to look and edit some code go ahead. For stability and secure on a running shop keep 8.

I thought api will be helpful but at the end I m back to use all import module. (back to module instead api)
I thought It will do better SEO job with latest update. (not sur for the result)

Prestashop 1.7. I'm against updating to Prestashop 8 as many people have modules that are either old and not compatible, or directly not compatible, and well, people aren't willing to pay for updating the modules(if they even have updates to 8), and that's why we are here.
